The Golf Swing Fulcrum Effect©1

The little-known undesirable, unintended club-head/shaft movement during a golf swing caused by the variation in non-dominant ( “left “ ) finger grip pressures exerted on the anti-ergonomic, wide-butt taper of “ traditional” golf grips.

Description:
Any increase in hand finger-grip pressure on the standard tapered shape of conventional grips in the kinetic (action) phase of a golf swing results in the sequential impaction of the fingers against the surface of the grip resulting in a mid-swing “ Fulcrum Effect “

….That is the “ lifting “ effect of the tightening index, 2nd and 3rd fingers of the “left” hand on the tapered middle section of the grip that they move or “lever” , against the firmer more fixed position ( “Fulcrum” ) of the 4th (“little” ) finger, which at address and throughout the swing, presses the grip’s upper wide-butt section most firmly into the heel of the non-dominant hand.

The rule is this: Address to impact all the fingers of the non-dominant hand tighten… ….but some fingers move the grip quicker/further to impact against the palm of the hand
more and less than others.

Discussion:
Many golf teachers, and no-handicap (scratch) players throughout the years have known that tightening the hands too much and/or too quickly in a golf swing results in poor shots and rightly cautioned those who would listen to “keep the hands soft, especially in the downswing ” …. and at Macro Golf we think that was always good advice but very, very difficult to actually … do.

Now however. PowerStroke©, the most ergonomic grip in golf, has the patented physiological ergo-dynamic shape that makes the soft hands of simultaneous grip impaction ….automatic.
